Dear Livingston Library Community,
“I kept always two books in my pocket, one to read, one to write in.”
–Robert Louis Stevenson
Just as our Library community is made up of readers, it is also made up of many writers. The Livingston Public Library will be hosting its first It’s a Writer’s Thing: Creative Writing Group on Thursday, January 17 at 7:00 PM. It’s a Writer’s Thing is the perfect place for writers (and aspiring writers) of all levels and of all genres to gather together to discuss ideas and workshop writing in an informal and nonjudgmental environment.
Whether you’re working on a novel, short story, poem, memoir, or aren’t quite sure where to start, this group is for you and for everyone who loves and wants to write! The Livingston Public Library’s Creative Writing Group will expose writers to various writing genres and styles, delve into individual writing techniques, and allow you to meet and connect with other writers within the community. Bring your ideas, writing, and a favorite writing utensil to our first meeting, and be sure to mark your calendars for our future dates!
This group will be moderated by Adult Services Librarian, Jessica. Before receiving her MLIS from Rutgers University, she received her B.A. in English and Creative Writing, with a focus in poetry, from Montclair State University.
All the best,
***Upcoming Creative Writing Group Meetings: 2/21, 3/21, 4/18, 5/16, 6/20
