Message from the Director: Alexa, Meet Hoopla

Dear Livingston Library Community,
Are you one of the many Livingston patrons who uses Hoopla? If so you already know it is an on-demand streaming service that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics, and TV shows.  If not, there is no better time to try out the service then right now!

Hoopla is now compatible with Alexa devices, and has launched apps for Apple TV and Roku.  To celebrate, we’ve expanded your access to 10 selections a month! So if you love to relax with Agatha Christie mysteries after a long day of work, or pump up your work-out with some Cardie B, it is easier than ever to do it for free through your Library.  All you need is your Livingston Library account and an Internet connection to start streaming from your computer, tablet or phone.  So grab your library card and let the binge-watching begin!

And remember, at Livingston Library, we bring the world to you.

All the best,

Amy

Message from the Director: Think Globally, Act Locally

Dear Livingston Library Community,
With the frighteningly erratic and sometimes dangerous weather we’ve all suffered through this year, who isn’t wondering about how climate change will affect our own area?  Don’t miss our presentation on April 18th, “New Jersey’s Changing Climate”  by David A. Robinson, professor of geography at Rutgers and New Jersey’s state climatologist.  We all know that climate change will affect the globe in countless ways, both large and small.  Prof. Robinson will zero in on what these shifts mean for our own Garden State, exploring events and issues in both the short term and for the long haul.

Because in the end, our stewardship of the earth can only begin in our own backyard.  And at Livingston Library, we bring the world to you.

All the best,

Amy
