Back to School with SEL

The start of the school year, like any change, can fill children with a mix of emotions.  Begin a conversation with your child about their feelings by picking up a storybook at our Social Emotional Learning Shelf!  How do we pick books to be in our social emotional learning shelf?  We choose books that cover a wide range of emotions such as excitement, sadness, nervousness, separation anxiety, and all the different ways (like mindfulness) to handle these big feelings. Talking about how a character feels and processes their emotions can help children feel more comfortable sharing how they are feeling themselves.

Browse our Social Emotional Learning Shelf in the children’s seating area under the arch, or request a few of our favorites today.
