Do you know what time it is? That’s right, it’s time to take your books on a trip to the beach or to the pool! The warm summer months are the perfect time for what many refer to as “beach reading,” but what does that term really mean?
To some beach reading is the term given to the type of novel that takes place at the beach. Authors such as Elin Hilderbrand, Nancy Thayer, and Jenny Colgan all come to mind when thinking about a beachy setting. While to others,
beach reading is anything light and fluffy. Humor books such as those written by Mindy Kaling or Lisa Scottoline & Francesca Serritella all fit well into this category. For other readers, beach reading might be anything short! Something small that can fit into our beach bag or something even a bit longer that’s poppy and buzzy that you can pack with you via an e-reader.
To me, beach reading is the time to set aside the books that you feel like you should read and devote your attention to books that you want to read. So, comment below with what your beach reading this summer consists of!
