Books That Have Made You Laugh

A while back we talked about the power books have not only to transport you into the world and lives of their characters, but also to make you feel emotions.  The emotions can have you reaching for a tissue box, or literally laughing out loud. Today, we would like to ask you, what is a book title that has made you chuckle?

As always, here’s what a sampling of Livingston Library staff members have to say: (These books are available through our digital collections!)

Jessica: The essay collections that Lisa Scottoline writes with her daughter Francesca Serritella usually always make me giggle. Some of my favorite titles are: I Need a Lifeguard Everywhere but the Pool, Have a Nice Guilt Trip, and Why My Third Husband Will be a Dog

Archana: Books by P.G. Wodehouse! Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman was funny too.

Joe: The book that made me laugh more than any other is definitely Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Eitan: Carl Hiaasen’s books make me laugh.

Katie:Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan is hilarious and the situations he and his kids get into are thoroughly entertaining

Amy: Tina Fey’s Bossypants never fails to make me smile.

If laughter isn’t your thing, check out our previous blog post on books that have made us cry.
