Message from the Director: Brain Health Awareness Month

Dear Livingston Library Community,

June is Brain Health Awareness Month! Organizations throughout Livingston celebrated all month long. The town council declared the week of June 10th “Paint the Town Purple Week!” Here at the Library we are proud to stand alongside our fellow community organizations and help the Alzheimer’s Association promote this important issue. But why limit it to just one month? The Library has resources to keep your neurons firing all year long.

One of the top ways to keep your brain healthy is to keep it active and, as always, the Library is here to lend a helping hand (or book, or magazine, or CD!). Reading materials and music can help stimulate memory, as well as provide enjoyment and entertainment.

So swing by the library and pick up one of our recommended titles, sign up for a program, join a  book club, or browse our digital collections to stream some music and download your favorite magazine. While you here, why not take a stroll around the Oval – because a healthy body helps support a healthy mind.

All the best,
Amy
