This month, our Get Lit book club group resumes from a brief break in August with Circe by Madeline Miller. This novel follows the banished witch daughter of Helios named Circe as she interacts with mythological beings and Olympians and is ultimately forced to choose between the world of the gods or the world of the mortals. Our September Get Lit book club group meets on Tuesday, September 17 at 7pm. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Patron Services desk. This novel is also being made into a TV series on HBO, so you’ll definitely want to read the book before you watch the series!
Our Feminist Fare book club will be resuming in October with Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier. Remarkable Creatures is a true story about two women who found some of the earliest dinosaur fossils in England. Our Feminist Fare book club meets on Thursday, October 10 at 11am. Copies of this title are also available for pick up at the Patron Services desk.
Hope to see you there!
