Message from the Director: Fall into Fall at the Library

Dear Livingston Library Community,

“I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers,” as author Lucy Maud Montgomery of Anne of Green Gables stated.  October surrounds us with the Fall season: pumpkins, costumes, candy, spooky tales, and Fall library programs. Join us this month for two October-inspired programs.

We begin with our Wednesday Scary Movie Afternoons, where we will be showing three spine chilling films: October 3: A Quiet Place (PG-13); October 10:  IT (R), and October 17: Marrowbone (R).  All films received rave reviews.  Movies will begin at 1:00 PM.

On Monday, October 15, we are pleased to be hosting L’Aura Hladik Hoffman of the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society.  Beginning at 7:00 PM, L’Aura will detail the history and haunts of Jersey and The Big Apple. She will reveal fascinating and hair-raising details about Charlie Brown’s Restaurant, the Hotel Belvidere, the Proprietary House, Hart Island, the Van Cortlandt Mansion, and the Palace Theater.

Both events are free and open to all.  We are grateful to the Friends of the Livingston Library for their generous support of these programs.
All the best,
Amy
