Calling all Hobbit Fans! Did you know September 22nd is Hobbit Day? Hobbit Day is in reference to that day being the birthday of the hobbits Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, two fictional characters in J. R. R. Tolkien’s popular set of books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The American Tolkien Society first proclaimed Hobbit Day and Tolkien Week in 1978. If anyone is familiar with the movie version, The Fellowship of the Ring actually shows Bilbo’s birthday party – a day of fun, food, drink and fireworks.
