Message from the Director: How-To Houseplants

Dear Livingston Library Community,
The poet Shelley once wrote, “If winter comes, can spring be far behind?”  But most of us need the occasional reminder, which is why houseplants are so cheering at this time of the year.  This is the perfect moment for our upcoming program on Sunday, January 28th, at 2 pm, “How-To Houseplants” with Marc Zukovich, a professor of horticulture who calls himself “the Garden Coach.”  Not only will Marc discuss the range of common houseplants, how to care for them, how to treat pests and diseases, and answer audience questions at the end, he’ll remind us all of the green season ahead.  This program is the first of our new series, Know Your Garden, which will include presentations on eco-friendly lawn care in March and dependable perennials in May.  In the meantime, the Library also has a lovely collection of gardening books and magazines.

Till then, stay warm and enjoy planning for spring!

All the best,

Amy
