We kicked off 2022 with some wonderful adult programs! Here’s a recap at what happened during our January 2022 Adult Programming.
We got cozy for the winter reason with a virtual lecture on The Art of Coziness: Food, Holistic Strategies, and Seasonal Tips for a Cozier Life, presented by Vanessa Young of the Thirsty Radish. We also learned how to declutter our homes for a fresh and organized start to 2022 with 10 Tiny Organizing Tasks for a Clutter-Free New Year presented by Jamie Novak.
We learned how to make some delicious soups for the winter season with a virtual lecture on Hearty and Healthy Winter Soups presented by integrative health coach Mary Ellen Zung. We also explored the history of comedic films with the lecture “Make ‘Em Laugh”: A History of Movie Comedy from Charlie Chaplin to Mel Brooks presented by Brian Rose.
We will be enjoying the hybrid / (in-person & on Zoom) lecture Highlights of the NYC Highline presented by Mario Medici on the 31st! Prepare to be awed by discovering how the High Line was transformed from a historic elevated freight rail to one of New York City’s most popular parks.
We also got crafty this month with two crafting workshops! We kicked off our 4th year of the ongoing Reflective Journaling program by inviting participants to take home supplies to create covers for their 2022 Reflective Journal. Weekly journaling sheets are available in-person near the Patron Services desk and here on the Library’s blog. We also enjoyed our drop-in Crafternoon program in the Adult Seating Area, where we made mini scrapbook albums!
Our monthly Senior Happening performance took place virtually on Zoom this month, where Susan Speidel and Joe Reagan presented “Jewish Composers on Broadway.”
We also enjoyed talking about books this month with our monthly book clubs including: Bookish Vibes (& author visit with Claire Cook), Let’s Talk About Books, Unstuck in Time, and Crime Time.
Be sure to visit our events calendar to see what fun and engaging events we have planned for February.
See you next month!
