January Adult Programming Wrap Up

We started 2020 with some wonderful adult programs!  Here’s a recap of what happened this month!

This month we had a plethora of tech programs to help you better use your devices and learn some new skills.  This month we hosted: Stream Free with Hoopla, Google Drive Basics, and Microsoft PowerPoint 101

The Heart of the Matter, which was rescheduled from December due to snow, took place this month.  Dr. Ali Ahmad gave us valuable information related to heart health.

We also got crafty! We made gorgeous Paper Flower Collages with Paper Trails NJ.  We also got crafty with the Livingston Librarians at our Pinterest Inspired Adult Crafting program where we made mermaid sugar scrub!

The new year brought us the end of 2019’s Reflective Journaling program and the start of 2020’s new journal! We celebrated by throwing a Reflective Journaling Party and Crafting Kickoff.  Journaling sheets will be located near the library’s main entrance for you to complete at your leisure, and new sheets will be placed out every Monday.

This month was the official start of our new Bookish Vibes book club! We read Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.  Next month we will be reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill  by Abbi Waxman.

Trivia Night was also back with awesome new prizes and packed with family fun!

Magician Tom Yurasits also visited us for a night of magic and laughter as he performed his Comedy Magic Show  with Houdini like acts.

Adults enjoyed a special lunchbox edition of our Let’s Cook program where they learned how to make onigiri rice balls!

But everything wasn’t all fun and giggles. The Milviskiy Law Firm presented a lecture entitled How to Protect the People You Love and the Assets You Own, an informative and necessary presentation on estate planning.

Sue Altman presented an art talk on The Art of the Hudson River School, the first true art movement in America.

But that wasn’t all! We also enjoyed our Color Your Stress Away program in our new seating area as well as our Feminist Fare, Let’s Talk About Books, and Cookbook Club book groups, Saturday at the Movies, and Senior Happening!
