July was a month full of wonderful virtual and in person adult programs. It was so nice to see everyone back inside the Library at our in person events. Here is a recap of what happened during the month of July.
We continued to read books during our Adult Summer Reading Program: Tails and Tales. Raffle tickets can be earned for every book checked out during the program. There are so many bookishly themed prizes you can win, including a grand prize drawing of a brand new kindle! You can register for the Adult Summer Reading Program, here.
This month our Livi Cares: Adult Volunteer Club dropped in the library to write letters for the organization Letters Against Isolation. These letters were then collected all month long and before being sent to the organization.
Color Your Stress Away returned this month with in person drop-in sessions. We relaxed, caught up with one another, and enjoyed some coloring in the new adult seating area!
We also enjoyed two in person crafting events! We painted beautiful wood panels during our Adult Art Workshop: Wood Panel Painting and we got crafty with the Livingston Librarians at our Pinterest Inspired Adult Crafting: Clothespin Ladybug craft!
We beat the heat and spent the Weekends With the Oscars, enjoying the Oscar winning films Promising Young Woman, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, and Sound of Metal.
We enjoyed two virtual lectures through Zoom this month. We wrapped up our three part Oscar series with The Story of Opera Part 3: Verismo and Modern Opera 1890-2000. We also learned some tips to preserve our summer harvest with Home Food Preservation: Canning Basics.
Our Bookish Vibes book club met virtually this month to discuss The Guest Book by Sarah Blake. Author Sarah Blake also joined our discussion through Zoom. It was so lovely to be able to discuss her novel with her! Our Unstuck in Time book club met in person this month! We discussed The Princess Bride by William Goldman.
We also enjoyed the lovely performance Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre Presents: “Heart Songs: A Video Cabaret” during our virtual Senior Happening. It was a wonderfully entertaining experience!
Be sure to visit the Library’s event calendar to see all the exciting programs we have planned for August. We hope to see you soon!
