June Adult Programming Wrap Up

The end of Spring and the start of Summer brought a wave of wonderful adult programs for the month of June.  Here are some highlights from adult programming this month.

Learning a new art form is always fun! Artist and instructor Barbara Sax presented an Introduction to Alcohol Ink Art.  The creations with this medium were so cool!

Dr. Carla Andrews presented a lecture on Peaceful Parenting. Attendees learned all about different strategies to guide their children at every stage of the child’s life as well as their own!

Douglas Silversten joined us once again to present a lecture on Personal Finance. From using a financial check list to save for a future to thinking about investing, he gave us an outline for taking control of our finances.

Unsure of how to use that Ipad that’s sitting on your coffee table?  Our technology librarian presented Introduction to Ipad, a hands on class about the popular tablet.

Our technology librarian also presented a two part course on Microsoft Word.  Attendees learned the basics of this popular and extremely important word processing program.

Roma Bajaj presented a lecture and meditation centered around Designing Holistic Lifestyles. Everyone left inspired and ready to de-stress.

We got crafty with the Livingston Public Library librarians for another Pinterest Inspired  Craft! This time we made mason jar luminaries to light up our porches this summer.

Janet Mandel presented a captivating talk on Augusta Savage and the Harlem Renaissance.  We had a great discussion and learned so much about this remarkable woman!

We all have a tendency to forget things.  Dr. Michelle Papka presented a talk entitled Memory Loss: Normal Aging or Dementia?  She left us with valuable information and resources.

We also enjoyed our Adult Paint Night with artist Robin K. Johnson.  Robin showed us how to paint a tranquil and inviting beach scene.

Judith Krall-Russo visited us for a presentation on English Tea and Royal Weddings.  We also enjoyed a wonderful cup of tea!

June was also the start of Adult Summer Reading! We are raffling off some really cool prizes this year, so make sure you sign up.  Registration for Adult Summer Reading can be done here.

This month we also enjoyed our various Book Clubs, Creative Writing Group, Coloring Group, Senior Happening, and so much more!  Stay up to date on what’s happening at the library in July by checking out our event calendar here.

See you next month!
