Libraries Around the World

The role of a library within a community spans beyond the world of books and literature.  A recent article for the New York Times mentions some of the wonderful things that libraries around the world offer their communities from roof-top gardens, to giant chess sets, 3D printers, and so much more.  According to the article, the New Library in Denmark rings a large bell every time a mother in a local hospital gives birth, fostering a relationship between the library and excitement of new life within the community.

In honor of this article, we would like to ask you about the special role the library plays within your community.  What libraries have you visited?  What does the library mean to you?
