Life in Livingston During Covid-19: A Community Story

The Livingston Public Library is launching a Community Story Sharing Project to document life in Livingston during the COVID-19 pandemic. Documenting and collecting the stories of our community as we adjust to life during this pandemic is essential to our role as librarians within the community.  We are asking that you share your personal experience with us, so that we may be able to capture what life was like in Livingston during the unprecedented and difficult time.

The Library is encouraging submissions from all ages of people living and working in Livingston. Written submissions, photographs, video, and audio clips are welcome. From small business owners, community leaders, senior citizens, and families of all types- This is an opportunity to have your voice, experience and stories heard and preserved for the future. Help compile a record of our community by sharing your story.

If you are interested, please participate by submitting your personal thoughts and experiences having occurred through March – April 2020. These stories and reflections will be compiled and made available to the public through our Local History Archive.

Visit our website at www.livingstonlibrary.org to fill out the online form. We will also be accepting the information via regular mail, but submissions should be held until the library reopens. Please include the following:

  • First and Last Name
  • Age
  • Any other information you’d like to share about yourself
  • An email or phone number to contact you
  • Your experience, kept to 1,000 words or less

Prompt ideas: What is your biggest fear? What is the most difficult aspect of the quarantine? What has been a positive aspect of the quarantine?
