Little Listeners Storytime is Back!

Little Listeners is off to a great start! Children and their caregivers were so happy to be able to return to an in person program.

Kindness was the theme for our first session; I enjoyed sharing a puppet version of the story A Kiss for Little Bear, where friends worked together to help Little Bear send his grandma a drawing he made. I also read Finding Kindness which illustrates ideas of how we can be kind to neighbors, family, and friends.

For the second session we read all about food! The group enjoyed Fussy Flamingo, a story about Lola the flamingo who wanted to eat avocado, dragon fruit, and just about anything but what her parents wanted her to eat, which was shrimp!  Each time she ate a fruit, her feathers turned a different color.  When she finally tried shrimp for the first time, she discovered she loved it, and her feathers turned pink to her parents delight!  The perennial favorites, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and the puppet version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar wowed the crowd and they loved watching the caterpillar puppet “eat” all different food.

Little Listeners storytime is for children ages 2-5 years old with their caregivers and meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM on the Children’s Terrace. Hope to see you there!
