Dear Livingston Library Community,

At the Livingston Library, we pride ourselves on striving to fulfill your needs for information, discussion and education. This is why we are so excited to announce our latest addition to our Library of Things: Youth Puzzles!

Puzzles hold incredible educational benefits for young children. They can stimulate a child’s cognitive and memory skills, problem-solving techniques, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. When working on a puzzle, children have one goal and need to work to develop strategies to achieve that goal. A completed puzzle can give a child a sense of satisfaction and ultimately may boost their self-confidence and self-esteem.

But the best part? According to Youth Librarian Gina Vaccaro, “Children think puzzles are fun! We have alphabet puzzles, dinosaurs, numbers, and animal puzzles, and continent puzzles for those looking for a little more of a challenge. And they are all packed in kits for you to take home and enjoy at your leisure!”

Stop by the Children’s Desk to take home a puzzle kit today. And remember, at the Livingston Library, we bring the world to you, one piece at a time.
All the best,
Amy
