March Adult Programming Wrap Up

March was jam packed with so many wonderful adult programs. From concerts to gazing at the stars, the Livingston Public Library has a program for everyone!

On March 3 we enjoyed a wonderful concert Salute to Molly Picon, the Star of Yiddish Theatre.  This program was rescheduled due to November’s terrible winter storm, but it was well worth the wait!

On March 7, Elle Bernardo, dietitian of the Livingston ShopRite visited us for Adulting 101: Healthy Cooking. She taught us how to make a yummy lentil salad!

Baithak presented A Book Reading of Rabindranath Tagore’s Home and the World on March 10. It was an absolutely wonderful event!

And then we reached for the stars at our March 12 Stargazing on the Oval program in conjunction with the Youth Services Department.  It was chilly, but the stars sure were beautiful.

On March 13 we unleashed our inner artists at our Scratch Art Design Workshop instructed by artist Mansa Mussa.  The finished products were beautiful works of color.

Adult Trivia Night was back on March 13.  We played trivia on our smart phones via Kahoot, enjoyed handcrafted mocktails, and won some cool literary prizes.  Advanced reader copies anyone!?

On March 14 we learned all about Louis Bramberger Department Store Innovator and Philanthropist with a presentation by Linda Forgosh.  She discussed her book on Bramberger, which took her eight years to write.

March 16 kicked off our Spring Gardening Series with Starting Plants from Seeds.  Spring is just about here, so let’s get planting!  You can register for the other programs in this series here.

Local author Joanne Serling joined us on March 18 to discuss her novel The Good Neighbors. Have you requested her novel from the library yet?

NJ Makers Day took place on March 23.  There were activities for both children and adults to enjoy including circuits, astronomy, buttons, and more!

Our Read It & Eat Book Club met again on March 25 at Livingston Bagel.  We discussed Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris.  Next month we will be reading The End We Start From by Megan Hunter.  Pick up your copy and drop in to our next meeting on your lunch break.

Interested in investing? Our March 26 program Investing with Value Line took us through the steps of how to use the online platform of Value Line.

The perfect way to end the month?  Another concert of course. On March 31 we enjoyed the PEL Piano Trio‘s performance of Classical Favorites.  What a lovely concert it was!

We also enjoyed our monthly senior happening, creative writing group, book clubs, coloring group, and so many more!  Check out our calendar to see what programs are happening in April.
