March Virtual Programming Wrap Up

March was a month full of some wonderful virtual programs! Here is a quick recap of what happened this month!

March is Women’s History month and we kicked off the month with a lecture on Great Women Artists of the Early 20th Century presented by lecturer Mario Medici.  It was fascinating.  We also learned about The Schuyler Sisters and Hamilton Musical during an informative lecture presented by Rick Feingold.

One of the many beautiful creations from our Frida Kahlo Still Life workshop!

We expressed our creative sides with two take-home crafting events.  We made origami bookmarks as part of our Pinterest Inspired Craft and we learned how to create a Frida Kahlo Still Life with artist and instructor Barbara Freiberg.   We also explored The Art of Pysanky: Ukrainan Egg Decorating in a lecture presented by Jennifer Santa Maria.

We kept our health in mind with Wellness Wednesdays: Find Added Sugar in Plain Sight.  This program was presented by Jennifer Shukaitis, MPH, a faculty member of the Department of Family and Community Health Sciences at Rutgers Cooperative Extension. We also continued our Cancer Education Series with a lecture on Colorectal Health & Cancer Prevention in partnership with Center for Asian Health (CAH) at the St Barnabas Medical Center and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ (CINJ).

We love to eat, and this month we enjoyed two food related programs!  Author John Holl took us on a journey during Beer and Food: An Exploration and tonight (3/31) Vanessa Young will teach us us some tips and tricks to make weekday meals easy, during a program on Simplifying Weekly Meal Planning.

We also enjoyed our Let’s Talk About Books book club, Unstuck in Time book club, Bookish Vibes Book Club , Family Trivia Night, and Senior Happening!

Be sure to visit our events calendar to see what wonderful programs we have planned for the month of April.  We hope to see you soon!
