May Adult Programming Wrap Up

We enjoyed some fabulous adult events this May at the Livingston Public Library! Here’s a recap of what happened during the month of May.

We celebrated mothers this month with a presentation on The Mothers of Invention. Here we learned the history of selected women inventors.  Have you ever wanted to visit Niagara Falls? We learned all about the falls and the river during an informative lecture on Niagara: The Falls and the River.

With springtime comes garage sale season! We learned a lot during the virtual lecture 101 Tips for Maximizing Garage Sale Revenue, and we can’t wait to put some of these tips into practice!

The Shakespeare Company of New Jersey joined us this May for a Shakespeare Live performance of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Our Seniors also enjoyed a fun Senior Happening this month where the Livingston High School Jazz band performed.

May is Older Americans Month, and this month we hosted an informative lecture on An Introduction to Estate Planning and Elder Law. Attendees came away with valuable resources and information to assist them in their golden years.

We enjoyed our heavily anticipated Alcohol Ink Card Making Workshop this month. We also got crafty during our Color Your Stress Away adult coloring meetings and Crafternoon drop-in craft.

Do you enjoy classic movies? Classic movie lovers enjoyed a Classic Movie Tuesday screening of Paths of Glory this month in the Library’s program room!

Would we even be a NJ Library if we didn’t have a program about diners? We enjoyed a wonderful program on Stories from NJ Diners. It only made us a little bit hungry for our favorite diner meal.

Cookbook Club returned this month for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic! Everyone enjoyed creating recipes from Nothing Fancy: Unfancy Food For Having People Over by Alison Roman and getting together to share them! We also enjoyed our regular monthly book groups including: Let’s Talk About Books, Unstuck in Time, and Bookish Vibes (which included an author visit from Joanne Serling.)

We hope to see you at all the wonderful events we have planned for June!
