Hello Library Readers!
We are super excited to announce that author Julie Maloney will be visiting us on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00pm. Maloney was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, and has a BA in English from New Jersey City University and Master of Fine Arts from University of North Carolina. Maloney is the founder of Women Reading Aloud, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women writers.
Maloney has published both a book of poems as well as a novel. Her book of poems Private Landscape, published by Arseya Press, explores a woman’s journey through cancer. In her novel A Matter of Chance, eight year old Vinni Stewart goes missing from a Jersey Shore town, leaving her distraught single mother desperately searching for her daughter. This novel explores motherhood, grief, and loss.
In addition to her writing, Maloney was also the artistic director, choreographer, and principal dancer at the Julie Maloney Dance Company for thirteen years. For more information, check out her website here.
