Livingston Library Community,
This week marks the completion of our first full week of offering contactless pickup for physical library materials. Our staff has been diligently working to fill your requests timely and in a safe manner. During the first four days of this service we have filled over 1,200 requests on print items and media!
Our library team is working tirelessly to adjust to new procedures and handle the volume of requests coming in. Thank you to everyone for your patience and support. It has been a challenging time for our team. We are examining our services and thinking creatively about how we can be the best library possible we can be during this new phase. Your words of encouragement and support have provided inspiration to all of us. We are so happy to finally be able to see you all again!
Contactless pickup is for reserved items only, and hours of pickup are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 10 AM – 4 PM
Wednesday: 2 PM – 8 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM
For more information on how contactless pickup works, please see here.
Also, while our physical library doors may be closed, the Livingston Virtual Library is open 24/7 from the comfort of your own home. Here you can find all sorts of resources from ebooks and audiobooks, to lectures, online learning, language learning, and more. To view all the great digital resources available, visit our website.
Thank you for helping to make this first week of this new service a success!
Stay in touch, stay safe.

where do you return a DVD? miler.matty@gmaiil.com
Dear Madelyn,
You may return a dvd in the big curbside metal book drop.
Thanks
At what point will you call people who have had books out since before the shutdown? Some of them don’t read emails or the local paper. There are probably hundreds of books out there that many of us are waiting to read if only they were returned to the library.
Hi Sondra! Overdue notices will be reactivated and all patrons with overdue books will be notified.
I am so happy to have the services of the library again. Thank you and all good wishes to the library staff for their amazing response to fill over 1200 request in 4 days.
Doreen Mollenhauer
Hi Doreen,
Thank you so much for appreciating the hard work put in by the entire staff of Livingston Public Library.
We all are trying our best.
Looking forward to meeting you all in person. We all miss you.
Stay well and take care. 😊
So glad there’s now contactless pickup. I reserved a book that was on the shelf in our library, and I never received an email telling me it was ready. I was checking my account each day, and after three days, I noticed it was checked out to me. Wasn’t I supposed to receive a notification email giving me instructions for pickup?
Hi Barbara! The computer system had some technical difficulties with hold notices the first few days. Please call the library if this happens again and we can verify your account settings.
Will you be opening on July 2nd?
Hi Joan! We are awaiting the installation of plexiglass at service points. We will most likely open in mid to late July, once all protective equipment is in place and we are able to ensure everyone’s safety. We will continue contactless pickup of materials until we are able to reopen. Thank you for your patience. Please call the library and speak with the Director if you have any further questions.
Great job, Team! Thank for your hard work for the Livingston community.
