Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to get your children reading more books this winter season? The Livingston Public Library’s Youth Services Department is excited to announce our brand new Winter Reading Challenge for children in grades K-5!
Participation in the Winter Reading Challenge is easy! All you have to do is stop by the Youth Services Desk or print the bingo card found on the Library’s website here. As you read, mark the individual squares as you complete each activity! To win a prize complete one line down, across, or diagonally. To be entered to win a grand prize, complete the entire card!
You can begin the challenge now! The challenge ends on January 31st, and cards for the Grand Prize Drawing will be accepted until February 4th. Winter reading was never more exciting!
We also have a fun winter themed activity for teens this month! This Wednesday at 3:30pm teens are invited to join us in the library to make hot chocolate bombs that they can then enjoy during winter break! (Because really, is there anything better on a cold afternoon than snuggling up to a good book and a cup of decadent hot chocolate?)
Hot chocolate bombs are spheres of hardened chocolate on the outside and rich cocoa powder on the inside that create the best cup of cocoa you’ve ever had. There is no registration for this yummy teen craft, which is available while supplies last! You can read more about this event here.
