Message From the Director: Dinner via the Library? It’s a Thing.

Are you missing wandering the stacks of the Livingston Public Library’s cookbook collection, or exploring recipes from the Cookbook Club’s bimonthly selections?  If so, Melissa, Associate Director and Cookbook Club extraordinaire has compiled book lists for those looking for cooking inspiration! From popular Food Trends to past Cookbook Club title selections, you can view these recipes digitally with the Library’s subscription to Hoopla.

If you’re looking to get cooking with your kids, our Youth Services Department has started a Let’s Cook With Diane! segment on our YouTube page. This is perfect for easy dinner ideas that the whole family can take part of.  I, for one, can’t wait to make her yummy pizza quesadilla.

If browsing magazines is more your thing, the Library’s subscription to RB Digital contains cooking and foodie magazines for you to browse and borrow.  You can hear Head of Adult Services and Acquisitions Librarian, Katie, discuss RB Digital’s offerings, here.

Being separated from our families can be very difficult, especially during a time of the year when many of us are used to gathering to celebrate various holidays. Cooking a favorite meal and then sitting down at the table and connecting online can be a great way to honor those traditions and family gatherings. I know I will be missing my mom’s ham and my father’s famous mashed potatoes. What recipes will you be making this week? Share in the comments!
