Message from the Director: Discover your Family History at the Library

Livingston Library Community,

Have you ever wanted to go back in time and explore your genealogy? The Livingston Public Library invites you to join us on Thursday, November 3rd at 2pm in the Library’s Technology Room for a workshop on Genealogy for Beginners. Part of a 2 part workshop series, this class will teach you how to get started on researching your family tree, find various sources of genealogical information, and how to organize your research.

Following this course, we invite you to join us again on Thursday December 1st at 2pm for Getting Started with Ancestry.com! Livingston Library cardholders have access to Ancestry.com as part of the Library’s digital resources. This workshop will show you how you can navigate the library edition of Ancestry.com, as well as how you can get started effectively searching for your family!

Registration is not required for these events, nor are attendees required to attend both of them. If you would like to learn more about the Library’s online genealogy resources, visit the Library’s website here or stop in and talk to one of our friendly librarians at the Reference Desk!

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director

  1. I’m sorry it is not clear to me if these ancestry classes will be given on line, and/or at the library as well. Please email me the answer. Thanks.

    1. Hi Elly. These courses will be taking place in-person in the Library’s technology room. Hope to see you there! -Jessica, Head of Adult Services & Acquisitions
