“It is true, we shall be monsters, cut off from all the world; but on that account we shall be more attached to one another.” — Mary Shelley, “Frankenstein”
Livingston Library Community,
Have you ever wished that you could be “unstuck in time” from the present, if only for a little while? One joy of reading is that it allows you to become transported through time, giving you the necessary wisdom to step back and examine current affairs through the eyes of characters. With books anything is possible, even time travel. That’s why the Livingston Public Library is excited to announce a new virtual book club called “Unstuck in Time,” that will take place on Zoom.
Unstuck in Time revisits classic speculative fiction, with a discussion centered upon what ideas these works potentially inspire in 2020. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 PM, and the first book to be discussed is Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, Frankenstein.
Registration is required for this event, and you can register now via our events calendar, here. The day of the program, information on how to access the event will be emailed to registered participants.
Are you as excited about this book club as we are? Check out the trailer below!
