Message From The Director: Healthy Brain Aging Tips and Strategies

Livingston Library Community,

When we think of health and fitness we often think of the physical body.  We are told to make sure that we are drinking adequate amounts of water, eating a balanced diet, and getting daily exercise.  However, brain health is also a crucial aspect to both physical and mental health, and maintaining a healthy brain as we age is extremely important.

The Livingston Public Library is excited to announce a virtual program through Zoom in partnership with the Cognitive Research Center of New Jersey (CRCNJ) on Healthy Brain Aging Tips and Strategies.  In this program, research liaison and clinician of the CRCNJ, Alicia O’Connor MSW, LCSW will discuss what healthy brain aging is as well as tips and strategies that we can use to keep our brain both healthy and strong. This program will also cover the signs and symptoms of dementia, and what resources are available as well as what one should do if they are concerned about cognitive decline.

To register for this program, visit our events calendar, here.  Prior to the program, an email with information on how to access the Zoom event will be sent to you.

If you’re excited for this program and want to learn more, check out the course offerings through the Livingston Public Library’s subscription to Universal Class.  Here you can find courses worth real CEUs on Anti-Aging Techniques, Alzheimer’s Disease 101, Memory Improvement, and more.  All you need is your Livingston Public Library card!

Best,
Amy, Director
