Message From The Director: Reliable Sources to Keep You Informed Regarding Covid-19

Dear Livingston Community,

Currently there is a lot of news, information, and misinformation being spread regarding Covid-19 and the current global health crisis.  Social media assists in the spreading of misinformation and in the creation of panic. During this time it is crucial to get news from reliable information sources.

You can find reliable information regarding the outbreak from the following local, state, and national agencies:

You can also view reliable news and reference articles from the resources below:

While we keep informed on what’s going on in the world, we’re also trying to keep our families safe, calm, and occupied.  Livingston Public Library now has a subscription to
TumbleBooks and TumbleMath.  TumbleBooks is an online collection of over 250 animated talking picture books, including Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, games, and puzzles. TumbleMath is a comprehensive collection of core math curriculum which covers addition, subtraction, word problems, time, temperature, graphing, and more!

Don’t have a library card but still want access to all of the Livingston Public Library’s
online resources?  Don’t worry! You can apply for a 60 day temporary card by navigating to catalog.bccls.org.  Under the My Account drop-down menu, there is an option for log-in / apply for a card. After filling out the form and providing a Livingston address, one of our librarians will email you a card number.  Once the library is open again, please be sure to stop in with your photo ID, and we will be happy to give you a physical card and full access to our collections for three years.

For any current cardholders having difficulties accessing our online content, we are here to help.  Please email us with a brief description of the issue and any account information you can supply.

Stay safe, practice social distancing, and remember to check in on your friends and family. We will all get through this together.

Stay well,
Amy
