Message From the Director: Spend Your Weekends With the Oscars!

Livingston Library Community,

This summer the Livingston Public Library invites you to spend your weekend with the Oscars. You read that correctly! Our popular Weekends With the Oscars movie showings are back this summer.  Beginning on Saturday, July 10th at 2pm, you can stop by the library and watch an Oscar award winning film in the Library’s program room. 

The schedule of movie screenings is as follows: 

Promising Young Woman | Saturday, July 10 @ 2pm 

Winner of the 2021 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (Emerald Fennell), and Best Actress (Carey Mulligan) Oscars. Run time is 1 hour & 53 minutes.

Judas and the Black Messiah | Saturday, July 17 @ 2pm

Winner of the 2021 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (Daniel Kaluuya). Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Lakeith Stanfield), and Best Original Screenplay. Run time is 2 hours & 6 minutes.

Minari | Saturday, July 24 @ 2pm

Winner of the 2021 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (Youn Yuh-jung). Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Steven Yeun), and Best Director (Lee Isaac Chung). Run time is 1 hour & 55 minutes.

Sound of Metal | Saturday, July 31 @ 2pm

Winner of the 2021 Oscars for Best Editing & Best Sound. Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Riz Ahmed), Best Supporting Actor (Paul Raci) and Best Original Screenplay. Run time is 2 hours.

The Father | Saturday, August 7 @ 2pm

Winner of the 2021 Oscars for Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins) & Best Adapted Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress (Olivia Colman). Run time is 1 hour 37 minutes.

Nomadland | Saturday, August 14 @ 2pm

Winner of the 2021 Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actress (Frances McDormand), & Best Director (Chloe Zhao). Also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay. Run time is 1 hour 48 minutes.

Registration is not required for Weekends With the Oscars.  Participants will be expected to follow all current CDC guidelines.
