Message From The Director: Summer Reading Challenges Are Winding Down

We wish summer reading never had to end!  Unfortunately, we are fast approaching the final week of our Summer Reading Programs for children, teens, and adults.

Adult Summer Reading ends on August 5, so get your raffle tickets in to be eligible for our grand prize drawing of two Kindles! Stop by the Patron Services desk, where every adult or young adult book checked out earns you a ticket towards the raffle.

August 11 is the last day of the Summer Challenge  A Universe of Stories for Grades K-5 and Read to Me for Ages Newborn-4. It is the last day for children participating in A Universe of Stories to log minutes online in order be entered for the Grand Prize Raffle! Children earn grand prize raffle tickets for every level they complete, and they can also earn bonus raffle tickets for every hour they read after completing the program.

Teens participating in the Summer Game for Grades 6-12 will have until August 16 to earn points towards prize levels Bronze – Platinum.

Remember, the Library has Summer Reading for all ages and something for just about everyone!  We can’t wait to see you.

  1. The link to the explanation of the redesigned library, new home for fiction, does not lead to more of an explanation of this. As a frequent library user and donor, and Chair of Let’s Talk About Books, I’d like to understand the physical changes taking place.

    1. Hi Janet. The link appears to be functioning, but just in case you are still having trouble accessing it, here is the link to the latest blog article about the library’s reorganization project: “New Home = More Space for Fiction” https://blog.livingstonlibrary.org/?p=3259

We also have handouts at the service desks within the library. Hope this helps!
