Livingston Library Community,
It’s not everyday that you get to discover a masterpiece, but that’s exactly what happened when Mallory Mortillaro identified and authenticated an Auguste Rodin sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte inside Madison Borough Hall.
The Livingston Public Library is pleased to invite you to join us virtually on Wednesday, May 19th at 7pm for an art talk on Uncovering a Masterpiece, where Mallory Mortillaro will be discussing the discovery of this marble bust that was mysteriously missing from the art world since the 1930s. Mortillaro will also touch upon her role as an archivist for the Hartley Dodge Foundation, as well as the lengthy research process that led to this sculpture being authenticated as a genuine Rodin.
The program is scheduled to take place through Zoom and all are welcome and invited to attend. Registration is required and can be done so through the Library’s event calendar, here. Information on how to access the Zoom event will be emailed to registered attendees the day before the program is to take place.
If you’re just as excited for this event as I am, and are looking forward to learning more about Rodin and his art, you may find the following titles of interest:
