Livingston Library Community,
Do you miss the plethora of wonderful live, in-person programs hosted in the Library’s program room? We do too, and we have some exciting news! The library is in the process of planning live, virtual programs for all ages through Zoom.
Zoom is an online meeting platform that allows you to view presentations and interact with presenters and attendees from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Here are some Zoom programs to keep an eye out for the month of August. Please note that registration is required for Zoom programs. Following registration, information on how to access the event will be emailed to you.
Adult Lectures
The Livingston Public Library’s adult lectures are an extremely popular program series. This month, you can enjoy learning about home organization with the KonMari Method™ for Peace During Uncertain Times on August 5 at 7:00 PM, learn about your local foliage in Demystifying Trees: Identify the Trees in Your Yard on August 6 at 11:00 AM, learn how to cope with your mental health in Anxiety in the Time of COVID on August 10 at 3:00 PM, and even explore the first “real housewives” of NJ in the informative lecture The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Early American Women and their Kitchen Gardens on August 18 at 11:00 AM.
Youth Services
This month, children in Grades 4-6 can enjoy art class with Ms. Gina through Zoom. Children will be exploring Adventure with Water Color as they create modern and fun works of art! Ms. Gina is also teaching an Art From Home-DIY Pottery class on August 13 at 4:00 PM where you will learn how to make air dry clay with everyday materials right in your own kitchen!
Teens
Teens will also have the opportunity to get creative via Zoom, with a virtual class on Paper Beads on August 5 at 7:30 PM. Teens will also have the opportunity to vote on if their next program on August 12 at 7:30 PM will be either Kahoot Trivia or a Virtual Scavenger Hunt. Voting opens on July 29 and runs until August 5.
Be sure to visit our event calendar, which we will be updating as new programs are scheduled. We hope to “see” you soon!
~Amy, Director
Dear Amy,
Thank you for all you are doing. The library is an integral part of our lives, we truly miss you all. I hope our township is thinking of those who do not have access to air conditioning. Many people do not understand the important role our library plays for all citizens.
I would like to ask you to find a speaker who can help us understand the history and experience of our black American citizens up to today and how “The black lives matter movement” evolved into what we are experiencing. Thank you for your consideration.
I thoroughly enjoyed your video by Livingston’s Junior Chef. I hope these zoom videos can be archived for viewing after the event, in case we miss the event.
Thank you to you and all your staff,
I can’t imagine life without the library.
I am registering for the senior happening with Stephen Fuller. I was unable to do it online for some reason.
Thank you
