Message From the Director: What Does a Return to Normal Look Like for Our Dogs?

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”– Josh Billings

Livingston Library Community,

As offices begin to reopen and children return to school, there is someone who remains left behind at home.  Over the past seventeen months, our dogs have had the luxury of having us home more than they ever had before. If you’re worried about how your pup will handle your transition back to office life, the Livingston Library invites you to join us virtually on Thursday, August 5th at 7pm for the workshop Return To Normal? But What Does That Look Like For Our Dogs? presented by Stacey Samela, dog trainer and behavior consultant.

During this workshop, Samela will explain how the past year has affected our dogs and how it may have created what has come to be termed as “velcro dogs.” This workshop will cover how the transition back to normalcy could result in challenges when everyone (but the dog) leaves the house, and will help dog owners create easy to implement solutions to help make this transition as seamless as possible.

Everyone, both two and four legged, is welcome to attend this workshop, but registration is required. Registration can be done through the Library’s event calendar.  An email with information on how to access the Zoom event will be sent to you the day before the program is to take place.

We can’t wait to see you and your pups at this virtual event!

Best,

Amy Babcock, Director
