The Livingston Library has so many wonderful programs planned for the month of February.  From health lectures, to creative arts programs, and more, here are some virtual lectures that you can mark your calendar for this month. 

Writing Your Best Book | Tuesday, February 2 at 7pm | Register Here!

Are you an aspiring novelist or writer? Join the Livingston Public Library virtually on Zoom for a writing workshop with author Tere Michaels. This workshop will cover the elements that go into creating an outstanding book.  From those who are just getting started to those who are thinking of pursuing publication, bring your questions, your writing, and your goals to help you take your writing to where you want it to be. 

The President is Dead! The Deaths and Remembrances of American Presidents | Monday, February 8 at 7pm | Register Here!

Join Louis Picone, author of “The President is Dead!” for an engaging presentation on the deaths and public remembrances of American Presidents from George Washington’s modest funeral at Mount Vernon in 1799 to the massive multi-day state funeral event of George H.W. Bush in 2018. Picone will discuss how he developed his interest in the topic and will also share stories from his book.

The Cook’s Herb Garden | Wednesday, February 10 at 11am | Register Here! 

Have you ever wanted to grow your own herbs?  In this workshop, Master Gardener Caren White will show you how you can grow herbs. During this workshop, you will be  introduced to culinary herbs used in Central & South American cuisines, Asian cuisines,  and Middle Eastern cuisines.  You will also get growing and harvesting information for those herbs that can be grown here in New Jersey.

Living Dangerously on Film | Monday, February 22 at 7pm | Register Here! 

Join film historian  and author Max Alvarez for this 75-minute thrill ride with unforgettable selections from over 75 years of film entertainment. (If you’re looking for films to stream in preparation for this lecture, check out the Library’s subscription to Kanopy!)
