Mrs. Chen’s Memorial Program: Sarah W. Jaffe Author Visit

Attention parents! We are pleased to welcome author Sarah W. Jaffe to the Livingston Library for Mrs. Chen’s Memorial Program on Thursday evening, October 27th at 7:00 pm.

Sarah W. Jaffe will read an excerpt from her new book Wanting What’s Best: Parenting, Privilege, and Building a Just World and then lead a discussion about navigating childcare, school, and higher education systems with equity and justice in mind. Her book includes interviews with real parents and actionable steps for parents who are interested in getting the “best” for all children.

As many of you know, Mrs. Chen was a beloved Children’s Librarian at the Livingston Public Library for over thirty years. This author visit parenting program is a wonderful way to honor her memory and the legacy she has left with the Livingston community.

I hope to see you there!

~Gina Vaccaro, Head of Youth Services

This program was made possible by Mrs. Chen’s family and the Friends of the Livingston Public Library.

  1. I knew Grace Chen from the 1980s. My wife Sumona Bhattacharya worked with her in LPL since 1988 and joined her in death too soon. Grace Chen complimented my professor like scholarship and mien to Sumona, most precious jewel LPL could ever have.
