Audiobooks are a multi-tasker’s dream come true. They allow us to read and consume novels while also getting tasks and chores done, but does multi-tasking with audiobooks ever distract you from the story? Are there some instances where you’ll forget what you read… or what you heard?
I find that listening to audiobooks while driving is best setting for me to absorb content while multi-tasking. When I try to listen to audiobooks while cleaning or doing other tasks, I find myself tuning the book out and losing my place in the story.
Here is what a small sampling of what Livingston librarians like to do while listening to audiobooks:
Joseph, Adult Services: Joseph will listen to audiobooks on long distance car rides. One time he drove to Georgia and back and listened to an entire book!
Emily, Patron Services: Emily will listen to audiobooks while driving or going for a walk.

Happy Listening!

Gardening, laundry, dishes and making dinner become times I look forward to because of audio books.
