Message from the Director: Ready, Set, Create!

Dear Livingston Library Community,

On Saturday, March 10th,  get ready for robotics demonstrations, interactive LEGO crafts,  fun with electrical circuits, and encounters with a mysterious SLIME!  Yes,  it’s the Library’s third annual Makers Day,  and we could hardly be more excited to be celebrating it along with a host of other libraries, schools,  museums,  makerspaces, and other community locations across the state.

Here at the Library we love the philosophy of “maker culture”: exploring the world through all things related to tinkering,  experimentation,  and creation.  And though we’ll always deeply cherish our books and other print-based resources, we’re happy to supplement our collections with a Library of Things,  which includes portable makerspace kits (our Ready, Set, Create! Toolkits) and other lendable items such as mobile hotspots,  pre-loaded Nooks,  sewing machines,  and telescopes.

We welcome you and your families to join in the fun!  No registration is required,  but do come early for parking.

Remember,  at Livingston Library we bring the world to you.

All the best,

Amy

Director – Livingston Library
