September Adult Virtual Program Wrap Up

September was full of some wonderful virtual programs!  Here are some highlights of what we enjoyed this month.

Early in the month we enjoyed a lecture on New Jersey State Parks presented by Kevin Woyce.  We learned some interesting facts about our favorite spots and even discovered some hidden gems in our state. We also learned about NYC’s Central park with a lecture titled Highlights of Central Park presented by Mario Medici, towards the end of the month.

Rick Fiengold presented Alexander Hamilton: The Musical and the Duel.  We enjoyed learning about Hamilton and experienced some music from the musical.

We love reading and discussing what we have read!  This month we hosted our Let’s Talk About Books book club virtually, where we discussed  “The Spy and the Traitor” by Ben Macintyre.  We also hosted the first virtual meeting of our brand new Unstuck in Time book club, where we discussed “Frankenstien” by Mary Shelley.

Family Trivia Night was back, where we had fun playing Kahoot Trivia via Zoom!

We got crafty this month with two virtual crafting programs.  Certified zentangle instructor, Mary Topping taught a virtual Zentangle Art Workshop, and we also got crafty with the Livingston Library Librarians who showed us how to paint trinket jars during our monthly Pinterest Inspired Adult Craft

The musical performances of Senior Happening were enjoyed this month with a Broadway Bound performance by The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

We also learned practical skills such as how to improve our finance with Personal Finance 101 presented by Douglas Silversten, and learned some important information in the lecture Protecting Yourself in the Retail World with the Bergen & Passaic County Division of Consumer Affairs.

Many of these programs were made possible by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library. Visit our events calendar to find out what awesome programs we have planned for October!
