Staying Up Late to Read

It’s already 11pm and you have to wake up early for work the next day, but there’s only 100 pages left in the novel you’re currently reading. You just have to find out what happens next, but you know that it’s probably wiser to close the book now and get some rest.  Do you stay up late to finish your book? Or do you reluctantly set it aside?

#ReaderProblems

Sometimes it feels like if you’re a hardcore reader, you just have to stay up finishing the book, even if it means being miserable the next day.  That being said, I rarely stay up late to finish a novel, but if I’m really into it I might stay up a bit longer than I normally would. But what about you, library readers?  Have you forfeited sleep so you could continue reading?

As always, here’s what a sampling of Livingston Library staff members have to say in who wins the battle sleep or the book:

Katie: I stayed up very late reading The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins!”

Joe:I once forced myself to stay awake deep into the night because I just had to finish Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl.”

Gina: “Absolutely! I read mostly at night, so if I’m really into a book sleep gets postponed, usually for ‘just one more chapter…”
