Message From the Director: Take A Chance on the Library 2020

Amy Director

Livingston Library Community,

The Friends of the Livingston Public Library make everything that we do possible.  From our great programs such as our popular creative arts to musical performances, to many of our virtual online resources that have become such a comfort to us today, the hard work of our Friends Volunteers are a big part of our success in having these resources available to you, our Livingston community.

The Friends of the Livingston Public Library have been working hard to plan their annual Take A Chance Silent Auction. Auctioned off in this fundraiser are an exciting array of items like:

  • A fun-filled basket of Disney merchandise
  • Accessory baskets such as Coach
  • A delicious wine & snack basket
  • A subscription to West Essex Tribune
  • Theater tickets for venues including Paper Mill Playhouse and
  • Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

It’s a great way to not only give back to the community through the library but also to support the many businesses that call Livingston home.

You can view the fundraiser online on the Friends of the Livingston Public Library’s Take A Chance Silent Auction webpage, here.

Stay in touch, stay safe. We all look forward to seeing you again soon,
-Amy

Message From the Director: BookFEST!

Amy Director

As people around the world celebrate Oktoberfest, here in Livingston we are celebrating BookFEST!  Yes, you read that write, it’s time for the Friends of the Library’s annual BookFEST sale.

Once a year for an entire week during the month of October, The Friends of the Livingston Public Library turn our program room into a used book wonderland, where you can purchase popular used titles at bargain prices.  BookFEST will run from Thursday, October 24, 2019 until Sunday, October 27, 2019.  If you have been contemplating joining the Friends of the Livingston Public Library, now is also an excellent time to do so!  Friends of the Livingston Public Library members will have early access to the Friends-only BookFEST pre-sale on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

By patronizing BookFEST you are helping to fund all of the many wonderful free programs we enjoy all year at the Library, making it the perfect excuse to stock up on your to-read pile.  The township funds our operating expenses; the Friends pay for everything from Nursery Rhyme Time to Senior Happening, including teen SAT prep, public lectures and performances, adult creativity workshops– and so much more.

Be sure to stop by the library during BookFEST week!  We wouldn’t be able to get by without a little help from our friends!
