Dear Livingston Library Community,

AmyWhat if the children in your life could enjoy a thrilling, perfectly safe trip to the places of their choice, be it Moscow, Alaska, Middle Earth, or outer space?  Well, they can…with summer reading!  The Library’s annual summer reading program includes weekly awards and two raffle drawings between June 26th and August 6th.  We have three different programs designed to appeal to three age groups, from babies to teens.  To make sure your children’s vacations include those unique, brain-sparking adventures found only in books, sign up for our summer reading program.  And while you’re online, check out our roster of fun free performances and other events.

Happy summer and happy reading!

All the best,

Message from the Director: Can’t Start a Fire Without a Spark

AmyDear Livingston Library Community,

Do you have a musical hero? Someone whose melodies and lyrics seem to express an unvoiced part of yourself? For me it’s Bruce Springsteen, the tough, principled, thoughtful American poet who embodies the maxim “Jersey Strong.” That’s why I’m extra-excited to welcome Jeff Burger, author and music critic, to the Library on Thursday, June 8th, at 7:00 pm to talk about Springsteen, John Lennon, and Leonard Cohen. As Bruce himself always says, “You can’t start a fire without a spark.” So please join us for what is sure to be an inspiring evening!

All the best,

Amy,
Director – Livingston Library
