Garden State Teen Book Awards – Voting is Open!

Have you heard of Garden State Teen Book Awards (GSTBA)?

Each year, librarians from across the state compile lists of the best books. Now, it is time for you to vote from those lists!

There is a display in the Young Adult Department where all of the books (that are checked in) can be found. Otherwise, you may look at the ballots to find other options that might not be available immediately.

Then, click the links below to vote on your favorites. Voting ends December 31st.

All of the books came out within the past 2 years, so it is possible you’ve already read a bunch of them!

6-8 Fiction

9-12 Fiction

6-12 Non-Fiction

Happy reading!

Jason, Young Adult Librarian

Hey Teens! Are You Using Libby & Hoopla Yet?

Did you know that with your library card, you have free access to Libby and Hoopla? Libby and Hoopla allow you to have access to eAudiobooks, among other things. Similar to Spotify, you can download your books ahead of time and listen to them at your leisure, whether you have an internet connection or not.

I personally use Libby for my commute in and out of work. I love that I can download it beforehand, there are no ads, and I can adjust the speed of the narration. I currently am listening at 1.55x speed.

We have tons of books available on those platforms, so check them out! If you’re impatient like me, you can filter it to “available now” so you will only see materials that you can check out immediately!

In some instances, new releases may be even available electronically before you can get your hands on a physical copy!

Please reach out if you have any questions!
