Dear Livingston Library Community,
Usually you won’t find your Library recommending games of chance, but we’re making a special exception for a really good cause: our own programs, which are almost fully funded by our wonderful Friends of the Library.
Yes, it’s that time of the year again! Your Friends of the Library have already begun selling tickets for their popular “Take a Chance on the Library” 50/50 cash raffle, which ends on April 24th. Half the proceeds go to the Library, half to the winning ticketholder—who won $2,240 last year (but remember, dollar winnings and odds vary depending on the number of tickets sold).
Library supporters also have many more chances to win big at the Friends’ annual Silent Auction. “Place your bid online for great prizes like tickets for performances at the Paper Mill, Public Theater and more, not to mention gift certificates for local restaurants, massages, and free admission to museums,” says Barbara Bye, our indefatigable head of the Friends. “Remember, it’s the highest bidder who wins so don’t hold back!” Concludes Barbara, “But any time you support your Library’s programs and services, our community is really the winner.”
We couldn’t agree more! And may the odds be ever in your favor!
All the best,
Amy
