Upcoming October Zoom Programs

The Livingston Public Library has some wonderful programs planned to be held on Zoom during the month of October.  

Healthy Brain Aging: Tips and Strategies | October 2 @ 11am via Zoom

In this program Alicia O’Connor of The Cognitive and Research Center of NJ (CRCNJ), will discuss what normal brain aging is, as well as the importance of maintaining a healthy brain. Registration is required for this event.  Information on how to register and access the event can be found here. 

American Icons | October 5 @ 7pm via Zoom 

From literary icons such as  Robert Frost, Ernest Hemingway, and Ella Wheeler Wilcox, John Steinbeck, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, to sports icons such as Mickey Mantle, and even actors such as John Wayne, how much do you know about these prominent figures of American culture? James Kane will be presenting an explorative lecture on the figures that shaped America’s popular culture. The Most Extraordinary Presidential Elections in American History | October 8 @ 7pm via Zoom

Presidential historian and author Louis Picone will discuss how the election process has evolved over the years and share stories of the most unusual presidential elections in American history from the election of George Washington in 1788 to Donald J. Let’s Talk About Books | October 9 @ 12:45pm via Zoom

Mysteries of the Paranormal | October 15 @ 7pm via Zoom

L’Aura Hladik Hoffman, Founder/Director of the NJ Ghost Hunters Society, will be presenting a lecture on all the things that give us the creepies.  From ghosts and legends, to cryptids, to the do’s & don’ts of the ouija board, as well as the mystery of crop circles and spontaneous human combustion. Senior Happening from Jazz to Soul | October 16 @ 1pm via Zoom

Rhonda Denet will be performing songs from the 1930s through the 1970s — a musical journey from the era when the “First Lady Of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald graced the stage to when the “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin ruled the airways. The Films of Alfred Hitchcock | October 29 @ 7pm via Zoom

Brian Rose, will be looking at Hitchock’s achievements as “the master of suspense,” and through dozens of film clips, examining some of his extraordinary techniques as a director.  Registration is required for this event. Information on how to register and access the event can be found here.
